Mohamad Hussein, P.E., M. ASCE., was the 2016 recipient of the Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA) Presidential Award for Distinguished Service. Mohamad received the award at the PDCA 20th Annual International Conference and Expo 2016 at the Astor Crowne Plaza French Quarter, New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. The award was established in 2008 by the PDCA and is presented each year to honor and pay tribute to an individual who has made on-going, long-term and significant contributions to the PDCA and the pile driving industry through his/her effective leadership, support and participation. Each year the PDCA President selects an individual who has distinguished himself or herself in advancing the PDCA through valuable personal and professional service. Mohamad’s contribution of his expertise in the field of driven pile design, installation, and testing has been invaluable to the development of the PDCA and to the advancement of driven piles in the deep foundations industry. Mohamad is a past Chairman of the GI Deep Foundations Committee and continues to contribute to the committee as an active member Emeritus. He is Executive Vice President of GRL Engineers, Inc.
